Join us for this fun and historic event: the first ever Hillsboro Amazing Race!

The Optimist Club of Hillsboro in conjunction with the Big Brother and Big Sisters of Columbia Northwest is proud to announce its first ever Hillsboro Amazing Race to be held on Saturday August 7th, 2010 starting at 12am (noon) at the Hillsboro Civic Center Plaza in downtown Hillsboro.

Your team will compete in four different locations in Hillsboro to figure out clues, puzzles, memory games and other fun challenges. If you know a lot about Hillsboro, you will learn something new. If you don't know much about Hillsboro, you will sure learn a great deal and have much fun in the process.

This is an open and competitive event with prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd team placement. During this event you will discover some of the recreational and educational resources that Hillsboro has to offer and forge a stronger relationship with your teammates by testing yourself with fun and challenging activities.

Requirements

• A competitive attitude
• A team made up of at least one adult and one child from age 8 to 16
• A vehicle for your team to travel together to the four staged locations around Hillsboro
• A digital camera or cell phone camera to document your accomplishments
• Show up, ready to go, at noon in the Hillsboro Civic Center Plaza

How to get there?

From Hwy 26 take the NE Brookwood Pkwy Exit.
Turn Right on NE Cornell Rd.
Turn Right on SE Baseline St.
Turn Right on N 1st Ave.
Turn Right into the parking lot just after SE Washington St., park there if there is space.
From here you can walk to the Plaza on Main St.
Note that Main St. is blocked off for the Saturday Farmers Market.
